Vector Imaging

The following pieces were created in Carlyle Wolfe's Vector Imaging class during the fall of 2010.  All of these graphic images made by using Adobe Illustrator.

Snapple.  8 1/2"x11".  Adobe Illustrator.  September 21, 2010.

Monochromatic
8 1/2"x11".  Adobe Illustrator.  October 12, 2010.
Analogous
8 1/2"x11".  Adobe Illustrator.  October 12, 2010.

Split Complementary8 1/2"x11".  Adobe Illustrator.  October 12, 2010.

Triadic
8 1/2"x11".  Adobe Illustrator.  October 12, 2010.
Complementary

8 1/2"x11".  Adobe Illustrator.  October 12, 2010.
The above image is composed of various shapes and objects taken from photographs in a magazine.  After scanning these photographs onto the computer, I live traced each picture in Adobe Illustrator, then formed a final collage of objects that I took from the different photos.  I then made color variations of this collage, my favorite being Analogous.

Band-Aid box "Kisses".  3"x2"x1 1/2".  Adobe Illustrator.  November 4, 2010.
Band-Aids.  3/4"x3".  Adobe Illustrator.  November 4, 2010.

After scanning a band-aid as a template for these images, I hand drew the mints and leopard print.  The lip patterns are from me kissing a piece of paper, then scanning and recoloring them.  These band-aid designs are printed on white inkjet mailing labels.

Self-Portrait.  8 1/2"x11".  Adobe Illustrator.  December 2, 2010

What began as an annoyingly pixellated photograph, ended up becoming one of my favorite projects that I have done in my art career thus far.  I created this image using the pen tool on Adobe Illustrator to trace the square-shaped pixels and other geometric shapes that showed up in the photograph.  The background is a pattern that I created on Illustrator.
